There is so much for you to do in Arizona this spring you won’t even know where to start. Not only does Scottsdale offer perfect proximity to the deserts, mountains, shops, and water, but you can also find yearly events that only occur during the warm spring months. You will get the best weather, fewer people, and breathtaking sights — what’s not to love about Arizona at this time of year?

Get ready to jam pack your schedule filled with fun spring break activities in Scottsdale during your upcoming vacation. We can give you a place to start so you can hit the ground running as soon as your flight lands in the warm and sunny city.

Head to a Spring Training Game

Scottsdale, and Arizona as a whole, is known for its love of baseball and the infrastructure surrounding America’s past. And we get it! With sunny skies, hours of bright blue sunshine, cold beers, and home runs, it is no wonder that people from all over the country head to spring training games to enjoy the atmosphere, get a tan, and see professional athletes do what they do best.

Head to one of the Spring Training games in Scottsdale from the Cactus League Spring Training season, featuring the San Francisco Giants at Scottsdale Stadium and numerous other pro teams from around the country coming to the sunny state of AZ to prepare for the long season ahead.

Listen to Live Music Outside

Head to the Desert Botanical Garden during the spring months to see the cacti during the day, wander around the premises, take Instagram photos, and see the sunset at the end of a long day. And, if you are lucky enough, time your trip with the spring concert series called Music in the Gardens. Check out the schedule online to see which local musician is playing during your holiday, and make sure to get tickets for the Friday evening bash.

Take a Hike!

No, don’t leave, but literally take a hike. Hiking in Arizona is one of the best ways to get outside, get Vitamin D, see the wildlife, and feel good about yourself in the process. We know that Spring Break can be a time for drinking and partying, but we think that being active not only helps us feel good about ourselves but helps us stay fit during a break from our normal routine.

We love going for walks in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve to see the changing of the flowers and the wildflowers coming out to bloom. If you want to take photos to remember the occasion, the Bajada Nature Trail is an easy and fast path that showcases nature at its finest. For those who want more of a challenge, the Pinnacle Peak Summit Trail is the best bang for your buck.

Have a Meal in the Desert This Spring Break in Scottsdale

Yes, you read that right. And no, you don’t need to bring your own picnic. Sign up and buy a ticket at Cloth & Flame to dine in the desert, featuring incredible Sonoran Desert backdrops, cacti holding up twinkle lights, fresh food, live music, and good vibes. Cloth and Flame provides intimate brunches for you and your partner on the weekend, along with dining under the stars options for a romantic evening with your love.

Cycle to See the Public Art

Cycling is a fun way to get around, burn some calories, and avoid the traffic that comes with rental cars, buses, and public transportation. We recommend renting a bike and cycling around the bike-friendly stress of Scottsdale to check out local culture, stores, and public art.

Scottsdale’s Public Walking Tour, or cycling tour, offers you the chance to spend around an hour on foot or 20 minutes by bike to see large art installations dotted around the urban area. Bring your camera (or iPhone) so you can snap pics of the famous Bronze Horse Fountain in the background.

Spend Time at Taliesin West

Last but not least, we had to include Taliesin West on our list. Of course, you can do this at any time of the year, but spring is the best opportunity for you to see the inside of the building and spend time watching the sun go down in the warm weather. The blooming flowers, fresh breeze in the air, were crowned, and warm sunshine made this the ideal time to see the red rock desert and the famous architectural building.
