Scottsdale is a fun city to visit year-round. Lush landscapes and mountain views captivate visitors in any season. Celebrate Labor Day in Scottsdale poolside, or simply escape anytime. This vibrant city offers unforgettable experiences and stays with gorgeous desert views.

Duke Dumont

If you are in the mood to party with your friends all weekend long, we know the place to be! Head to the famous Maya Dayclub to have an unforgettable American holiday with your best pals. Drink the day away and have fun dancing to upbeat tunes, meeting other like-minded people, and enjoying the warm sunshine. Attend ‘Duke Dumont’ on Sunday, September 23rd, from 12 pm to 6 pm to ‘lose control,’ swim in the pool, and listen to some cool tunes! You can also check out Relentless Beats for other fun events happening in Scottsdale throughout the year.

Shades of Distinction Oasis in the Desert

Keep the party going all Labor Day weekend and throughout the month of August and September by visiting nearby Tempe to attend this desert party! You can gaze at the red rock desert, mix and mingle with others, attend clinics, party during the boho-chic night, and have a few drinks at the nearby hotels. This fun party includes three light meals, a main event dinner, and fun with people who want to get out and line dance all weekend long!

Detours American West

Detours’ offers an American holiday that you won’t forget. If you head to Scottsdale with young children, then take this popular tour to head out to the famous Grand Canyon, one of the main wonders of the world, and gaze at the nearby Sedona Red Rocks on one of their day tours. We recommend booking a combination package that brings you right from the heat of Scottsdale to all of the best vistas in the entire world. Plus, you will be able to save 10% on the tours by booking over Labor Day weekend!

Walk Around the Picturesque Botanical Garden This Labor Day in Scottsdale

Another reason to come to Scottsdale is because of the Desert Botanical Garden! We love heading here over Labor Day weekend to enjoy the blooming plants, beautiful skies, and nighttime farmer’s market to pick up some fresh produce and enjoy annual events. Head here on Saturday to enjoy the ‘Flashlight Nights’ self-guided tour to see crafts, gourmet food, drinks, crafts, and chat with the local farmers!

Hash Kitchen

Labor Day Weekend is a holiday where you can let loose, relax, and chill out! We recommend going to Hash Kitchen to have one or more of their famous Bloody Marys to start off the holiday weekend. Plus, it has tomato and celery, so you don’t have to feel too guilty about your indulgence! We recommend getting the Banana Fosters Pancakes with creamy peanut butter for something sweet, Breakfast Sliders for a lunch/brekkie combo, ‘Elfin’ Huge English Muffin with extra butter, or a Hangover Short Rib Hash — the perfect Sunday brunch after partying a little too hard on Saturday night.

Walking Tour

Scottsdale has so much to offer that the best way to see everything is on foot! We recommend taking a walking tour, either self-guided or professional, from one of the numerous tour companies or local businesses around the city. One of the best tours to explore is the public art walking tour that takes you around 60-90 minutes, past murals, paintings, sculptures, and much more.

Head Out on a Hike!

If you can’t get enough of walking and enjoying some exercise in the beautiful sunshine and never-ending warm temperatures, then it is time for you to lace up your boots, pack your backpack, and go hiking. There are endless hiking trails, nature paths, and biking circuits you can do right from your vacation home in Scottsdale, AZ.

For those who want to just do one hike during their long weekend in Scottsdale, you have to go to the McDowell Sonoran Preserve! You will find tons of trails that can suit your group’s ages and fitness levels. For an easy walk, try the Gateway Loop Trail that brings you through the dusty desert, mountains, cacti, and hills. This leisurely walk is good for families with young kids who want to walk for around 2-3 hours during Labor Day in Scottsdale.

For those athletes and avid hikers who want to push themselves, we recommend doing the Pinnacle Peak Summit Trail in Pinnacle Peak Park! Soar high above the clouds, bring your camera, and pack plenty of water to travel more than 1,300 feet above the ground and walk for between 1-2 hours, depending on your fitness and pacing.

Even if you are not a huge hiker, we recommend tackling this challenging trail that is sure to break a sweat and provide you with expansive views of one of the most unique formations in the entire desert — Tom’s Thumb! This is one of the most popular hikes in the state, so make sure you head here early in the morning to avoid the holiday crowds. This 2.3-mile hike takes you more than 1,200 feet high and takes around 1-2 hours to complete.
