The food of the desert is destined to change the way you eat forevermore, and because you may feel a little overwhelmed when you first begin to explore the culinary landscape of Scottsdale, we at I Love Scottsdale are providing a guide to some of our favorite Scottsdale food tours. Discover the spicy draw of the perfect taco, explore the surprising realization that you can get good pizza in the desert, and revel in knowing that your taste of the town has given you a better idea of which restaurants you want to visit again and again during your Scottsdale adventures. Many of the restaurants you explore on these Scottsdale food tours may offer takeout, so after a log day of desert hiking, art gallery viewing, or hanging out at the ball fields, watching your favorite players bat one out of the park, you can order your favorite dishes and enjoy them in the comfort of our Arizona abodes!
Arizona Food Tours, 7333 E Scottsdale Mall, (480) 620-4047
For 14 years, Arizona Food Tours has been offering a taste of the town that has become the obsession of foodies visiting from all over the world. Offering perhaps the most comprehensive food and wine Scottsdale restaurant tours, they even provide private tours that can be formatted to enjoy the food and wine you love most. Costing between $80 and $95 per person and combining the best of the three tours we have described below, it is open to up to four guests and is available seven days a week, rain or shine! A Taste of Old Town Scottsdale costs $80 per person and is a three-hour walking tour for ages 12 and older, providing a full meal plus the option of two alcoholic beverages, with each course being provided by a different restaurant (four or five in total). The Scottsdale Wine Tour is definitely one of our faves, costing $95 per person. It highlights food and the wine that pairs best with each dish. This tour is for adults 21 and over only, and the wines offered are presented from four of our local tasting rooms. The final public tour is also for adults 21 and over, their Sip and Sample Happy Hour Tour that has often been popular with bridal parties. Costing $95 per person, it includes three to four alcoholic pairings while visiting a variety of Scottsdale’s most popular restaurants.

This food tour company allows visitors to explore beyond the boundaries of Scottsdale, offering tours of Phoenix and Gilbert as well as our favorite hometown tour. They feature six different tours in total—three in Scottsdale, two in Phoenix, and one in the area’s newest central food corridor, Gilbert. Try out the Scottsdale Waterfront Tour, costing $85 per person and taking place on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays at 2 PM, and explore the taste-filled restaurants in the 5th Avenue shop district. It’s Taco Tuesday every day with a Scottsdale Taco Food Tour, also costing $85 per person and serving as an introduction to the charms of authentic Mexican food. The Old Town Scottsdale Food Tour, $85, takes place Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 11:15 and takes guests through five or more restaurants. The two tours in Phoenix explore different areas of downtown, and the Gilbert Food Tour takes visitors through the exciting culinary adventures available in historic downtown Gilbert and includes food and cocktails.
