It’s a Beautiful Day for a Hike

This is a phrase you will probably say most days of your Arizona adventure, so why not take your hike to Pinnacle Peak Park? The moderate in and out trail takes hikers through some of our state’s most breathtaking landscape, with Pinnacle Peak itself standing guard in the background. Pack a lunch and enjoy your sandwiches at one of the four picnic tables, and when the sun gets a little toasty, take refuge under the ramada. Parking is free, restrooms are located at the trailhead, and bike racks are provided. Biking is not allowed on the trails, but there are biking trails nearby at the Brown’s Ranch Trailhead, so if you are looking to explore on two wheels, you won’t have far to go! Our beautiful Scottsdale villas will not only provide you luxury but easy access to your favorite parks and trails as well!

For the daredevils in your travel group, there are three separate locations set aside for experienced rock climbers at Pinnacle Peak in Scottsdale, bringing visitors a thrilling adventure that is made better by the beauty of the surroundings! And because fun and entertainment can be educational as well, (Just don’t tell the kiddos that they are actually learning something!) the interpretative displays along the trail teach hikers all about the flora and fauna they are hiking through! Special tours take place during full moons and sunsets, astronomy evenings are offered, and Wildlife Discovery Programs are free, giving you and your family a deeper understanding of wildlife and nature. Schedules for all of these events can be found on the Pinnacle Peak Park events and activities page.

The Contrasts Make It Special

FAQs About Pinnacle Peak Park

  • Can you rock climb on Pinnacle Peak?

Yes, there are three different areas on the mountain where rock climbing can be done. Offering different levels of difficulty, including one area “the crack” that is ideal for beginners. Once you reach the summit, you will be rewarded with panoramic views you will never forget, so be sure to have your phone handy for pictures.

  • Are all your I Love Scottsdale homes in Scottsdale or do you offer some in outlying areas?

We are primarily a Scottsdale vacation home company, but we do offer some homes in some of the surrounding towns, including Phoenix and Cave Creek. Our Cave Creek homes are closer to Pinnacle Peak by a few miles if you are interested in spending a lot of time rock climbing or hiking.

  • I forgot to bring some of my gear for rock climbing. Where can I find a store to supplement what I brought?

The major outdoor stores in the area, Dicks, Bass Pro Shop, or our newest mega sports good store Scheels in Chandler, will probably have exactly what you need, but we prefer shopping local, and the small business Just Roughin’ It Adventure Company provides more personalized experience. Located at 8658 E Shea Boulevard #175, they offer hiking, climbing, and biking gear as well as being a great source for expert advice.

  • Rock Climbing is fun, but now I am achy and ready to soak. Do you have hot tubs or deep tubs in your Cave Creek homes?

Some of our Cave Creek homes will offer a hot tub or a soaking tub and others offer both, so just choose your favorite and you will be relaxing comfortably after your rock climbing adventures!
