Walkable City

With the amazing weather we enjoy every year, you have to imagine that our towns would be very walkable, and of course, that is definitely the case with Scottsdale, particularly the Old Town area. Offering wide sidewalks that are easy to maneuver, whether on a Segway or in a wheelchair, there is no better way to fill a few vacation hours than by exploring this part of town on foot or by chair. Dipping in and out of local shops and boutiques, exploring the stunning beauty of art masterpieces, and devouring the delicious meals prepared by some of the best restaurants in the state are just a few of the things you can enjoy while exploring Old Town Scottsdale.

Saguaro Lake Cruise on the Desert Belle

For a town located in the heart of the desert, there are certainly a lot of water-related activities that can be enjoyed, and Saguaro Lake is one more site you can add to your itinerary. Located just a short drive away from your I Love Scottsdale vacation sanctuary, the lake was created when the Steward Mountain Dam was built on the Salt River, and the Desert Belle has been offering narrative cruises for more than half of the lake’s existence, over 50 years! Offering accessible bathrooms, a smooth ride, and an opportunity to explore the natural side of the area, it is one of our favorite ways to explore Saguaro Lake!

The Phoenix Zoo

The Phoenix Zoo is the largest privately owned non-profit zoo in the nation, open since 1962 and continuously working to educate and entertain visitors from all over the world. Offering wide paths that are easy to navigate, the zoo prides itself on being accessible to everyone and the over 3000 animals that make their homes within its gates are a fascinating microcosm of the world. Be sure to say hello to Joanna the Sumatran tiger, who joined the Phoenix Zoo family in 2021!
